European employers hire by process and position: MIG/MAG (135/136) for steel structures and automotive, TIG (141) for stainless and thin materials, FCAW for shipyards and heavy plate. Most posts state the process, the positions (PA–PF) and the materials. Read them carefully and apply where your real experience matches.
The trade test
Almost every welding job includes a practical trade test in the Philippines, run to the employer's standard — often with the employer's own welding inspector present. You weld the coupon in the required position; the joint is visually inspected and sometimes cut or bent. Experience you can prove on the plate beats any certificate.
How to prepare
- Practice the exact process and position stated in the post
- Bring photos and videos of your welds and the equipment you use
- Prepare an English self-introduction: your processes, materials, thicknesses, years of experience
- Bring your certificates (TESDA/NCII, WPQ, any employer certs) and a valid passport
